Ever wondered how to play chess? Ever wanted to know how to introduce chess into your classroom / school? Would you like to make chess easy and fun for everyone?

This course is for you. Over the course of three 45-minute webinars, we’ll introduce you in a very gentle way to how the pieces move, how to play

different mini-games that you can teach your class (Junior Infants up!), and how to organise your class chess lessons. We’ll suggest great ways that chess can be used to enhance your teaching at all levels.

Suitable for complete beginners or those who haven’t taught chess in the classroom before. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

 - Play a game of real chess

 - Teach the basics to your class

 - Organise easy, fun chess activities in your classroom that will conform to Covid-19 guidelines.

- Use chess to teach SPHE, maths and other curricular areas.
